Roman Couple
this is a painting hung on the wall of my supervisor's room
i have been looking for it in google for a few days
finally found it
the man is holding a scroll
it depicts authority of a male because writings with ink on a pyparus is permanent
whereas the woman is holding a stylus and a template probably made of wax
meaning her writings are temporary - not to be taken seriously
it shows the patriachal, androcentric world of ancient days
(it's a roman painting - dunno which century, wished somebody can tell me)
